It left us at the beginning of the summer last year to start a new life with its new owner who was keen to use it travelling around the country visiting music festivals.

So it was back to the drawing board to come up with a solution…well after some designing we came up with “The Camper Shak Elite”.
This new product ticks all of boxes for Paula and gives her a place for her spare wheel, a Smev triple burner and Smev sink in a combination unit.
The Elite Cooker section sweeps back and joins the Elite Main Store which is much larger than the exclusive…but still leaves enough room for your Camper Shak Rock n Roll bed to extend

Sue & Kevin have always loved bay window campers, and their dream was realised this summer when their 1973 Pop Top arrived.
The Camper was very well finished on the outside with a bright orange over white paint job, complimented by the Mr. Smiley wheel cover on the front.
Inside was a slightly different story with the original dorma style interior looking a bit tired. Well after an initial visit to the Shak in the bright November sunshine, a plan was drawn up to completely renovate the inside of the bus.
The camper has joined us now in late December for a complete re-fit over the next couple of weeks in readiness for the New Year. We hope to put smiles on everyones faces in the family, when they return in 2007 to pick up their finished camper
Sue & Sean had previously owned a T25 Camper Van, and spent many trips away with the family. But when a bay window model presented itself the couple decided to go retro.
Their 1972 Pop Top has been lovingly restored with all exterior and running gear work now completed, It’s a lovely mid blue over white and looks superb on the roadside.
Well the time came to focus on the interior, and Sue & Sean commissioned the whole works from The Camper Shak with matching full-length lids, fold away tap and stainless steel splash backs on the cooker section.
This camper is going to look fantastic for next season, ready to explore the countryside of Herefordshire
Paul has been involved in the automotive industry for as long as he can remember, and has renovated a number of classic VW’s.
He has taken very tired spilt screen campers, beetles and bays and brought them back from the grave…….but all for other people.
So when Paul & Diane purchased their latest project, they decided this was one was staying in the family. As you can see by the shots this camper has been taken back to basics.
Paul has replaced the entire cargo floor, front doors and several panels….and done all of the work himself…welding, fitting, and preparing for re-spray.
When Paul has fitted the engine and gearbox the bus will be heading for the spray shop. So with the outside now under control it was to consider the campers interior.
Paul & Diane have commissioned a complete hand crafted interior from The Camper Shak, which will be delivered to Birmingham to coincide with their camper coming out of the paint shop.
Matthew & Mel from Bristol bought their camper in July this year, they have already used it a plenty. With their dog Max the couple have had many trips exploring South Wales and enjoyed every minute of it.
But their camper had seen plenty of action over the years, and the interior was looking somewhat lived in. So they made contact with The Camper Shak.
After discussing Matt & Mel’s requirements….and Max too, we came up with some alternatives to consider. Well after several e-mails and transfer of photographs, an interior was agreed upon.
Matthew is going to strip out his interior and prepare his camper floor…while in Lancashire his furniture is being hand crafted at the Shak.
Robert and Susan purchased…Daisy only a month ago in September, and Daisy has been a real Yorkshire Lass. She was bought from a chap in Leeds….who bought her from a family in Ilkley in West Yorkshire.
This girl has been around a bit…..she may even have spent some time in Cumbria. Robert and Susan have three children who are bursting to get in the camper, and start having adventures.
Well after Robert had looked carefully at the 26-year-old interior it was time for a change. They liked the layout of the Devon Moonraker but wanted to make it suit their family’s requirements.
Robert stripped the camper and sold what was salvageable…and gave all these funds to his chosen Charity.
Now with the camper stripped it was time to think about filling it. Robert and Susan made contact with us at The Camper Shak…and very soon we had some ideas for them to consider.
Robert wanted to fit his furniture round a full width Rock n Roll Bed…..which meant splitting his units up in the remaining space. With the plan agreed on the furniture, Robert now laid his new laminate flooring, securing in place with a door strip from the Shak.
Zacs new splitty was everything he was looking for...a classic VW camper from the Sixties.
The vehicle had made the big trip from California and found its new home in London.
Zac and his family planned to make many trips in their new camper.....but when the barn doors were open.....the accommodation was in need of a few more home comforts
With no Bed, Storage, Cooker or Water....something had to be done....So Zac made the trip up from London.....and headed for The Camper Shak.
Because of our proximity to Liverpool airport, we were able to discuss Zacs furniture requirements at the Shak......and 40 minutes later he was heading back to the Capital on a £40 flight with wood swatches, samples and design ideas.
Sam & Mel loved their early bay window camper, but the inside was a little stark, even for the most hardy of campers...........so something had to change
This 1980s Bay window camper was given a complete make-over using the services of the Camper Shak design team. The first stage was to strip out the existing furniture and make good the floorway ready for the re-fit.............
see more images for the rest of the story
After getting their van tip top on the outside, Jackie & Vic were now ready for their early bay window camper to be revitalised inside.
So after purchasing a full set of Camper Shak furniture their van began to look like a family camper again.
This combined with Jackie's new covers and curtains makes this early bay window camper really stand out in the street
These shots taken from our latest full commission show Dave & Angie's beloved early bay camper. The vehicle has been fully restored with all body work as new, new 1641cc street power engine, superb empi gear shifter etc.
Well the outside was complete but their bus was a barren wasteland inside. They had a 3/4 rock and roll bed resting inside and a vision of how they wanted their bus to look.
After an initial meeting designs were thrashed out, Dave and Angie went on holiday, and their bus began its transformation at the Camper Shak.
