T4,T5 Tidy
Sunday, November 13th, 2011
We are very pleased to announce the launch of our latest new product “The T4 & T5 storage Tidy”. This product was developed after we had a few nights away in our own T5, both Diane & myself have been campers for years and we know from experience that storage space is a luxury not to be missed.
When your out & about in your camper the need to have regular items close to hand is key to getting sorted quickly. Rather than having to search in a cupboard for the kitchen roll, or rescue the rubbish bag from drifting around the floor.
Working with our heavy duty canvas range of we came up with a storage system that wraps around your headrest fittings, and tucks away at the bottom to follow the contour of the seat back. This ensures that when loaded with possessions the tidy stays in place.
To enhance the appearance of the product we introduced some contrast detailing from our Beachcomber range of waterproof fabrics. With so many colours of Canvas & Beachcomber fabrics to choose from you can really make your T4,T5 Tidy unique.
Check out the gallery opposite for more shots.
Please contact Diane in sales for more information.

So after some thought we came up with an upholstered solution to hide the offending damage, needless to say that James was delighted with the results. Check out the customer gallery for all the shots.

Vikings navigate from Norway
The three pals Jan, Joran & Stien landed at the Shak in bright spring sunshine after their long drive over from Norway. We had been in communication with Jan & Joran for some time discussing their camper projects.
It was a relief to find their journey over land and sea had gone without a hitch, and they had found their way across from Immingham near Grimsby to the Camper Shak in Lancashire.
So while both their campers are in the workshop being transformed from empty shells into day vans, the trio from Norway are exploring the U.K. in Daisy our four berth hire camper.

Joyce & Tony were re-united with Dora last Saturday, and were delighted with her new look. Between them they had chosen a bold internal colour combination of Mussel for the main body of the furniture, with contrasting lids in textured Zebrano.
To compliment their flashy furniture Creative Trimmings started by dressing their entire roof canopy and upper bed boards with new carpeting. With this complete we could then hand craft a complete suite of Exclusive doorcards, ¾ RnR lower bed cushions, Wide Buddy & clip on stool cushions & large upper bed cushions within the newly trimmed canopy. All hand crafted on site in Dune with Grey Friar fluted inserts.
To finish off their tired brown cab seats were stripped down to the frame, re-painted then re-built and upholstered in Dune with Grey friar fluted inserts & piping to match their fabulous new interior.

Curves come to The Camper Shak
Monday, December 21st, 2009
We are pleased to announce that Curves have arrived at The Camper Shak. Our latest bespoke furniture design used in Lindsay’s & Grahams Nissan interior features a curved kitchen and storage unit.
When we were given their Nissan Largo Highway Star and asked to come up with a piece of furniture that would provide both storage and a cooking area it seemed only natural to introduce a few curves into the design.
This new design has taken many hours of development from the drawing board to final furniture production, and when Lindsay & Graham viewed the mock-up they gave us the thumbs up to produce the real piece hand crafted in Matfen Chestnut.
With their RnR bed in place it seemed only natural to utilise the rear of the vehicle to create a bespoke cooking and storage area. It was a tight squeeze to get everything in, but by using our new curves we have managed to house the gas bottle, provide a double burner & grill with double access storage underneath, and to accompany we have a 20 litre thermo cooler with top and bottom storage features.
With Creative Trimmings providing the finishing touches with a Superior set of bed cushions, the newly appointed Largo is ready for the highway, with many trips ahead.

Bluebell comes to the rescue
Saturday, December 19th, 2009
Graham & Kelly were destined to have a December wedding at Samlesbury Hall near Preston. But their plans for the bride & bridesmaids arriving in a bay window camper came under threat when their scheduled vehicle hit major engine problems.
They had seen Bluebell at the Busfreeze show in November, and being a regular customer of John‘s at 81av it wasn’t long before enquiries were being made about the possibility of The Camper Shak helping out.
When we heard on Friday of Graham & Kelly’s plight we were only too pleased to assist, and arrangements were made to put things right. So with everything in place and Samlesbury Hall decorated with a covering of snow the scene was set for a memorable day for their wedding.
Kelly’s Mother and the bridesmaids were the first to arrive from the lodge house in Bluebell, and everyone looked fabulous against the backdrop of the Hall and the snow scene. Then with the girls safely inside warming in front of the open log fire, it was time for Bluebell to deliver Kelly and her Father.
I’m sure you will agree that Kelly looked beautiful sat alongside her proud Father, we offer Graham & Kelly the very best wishes for their new life together

New Westy style roof fitting
Saturday, October 31st, 2009
We have recently fitted a brand new Westy style roof on Norison, a bay window camper from Edinburgh. The roof was supplied by O’Connor’s in Devon and was delivered right to the Shak for us to undertake the fitting for our clients.
This new roof section was to replace the historic Pop Top and create a large double bed along with a forward luggage rack.
The whole operation involved everyone from The camper Shak & Creative Trimmings team, with firstly removing the old roof then cutting new aperture for the new roof mechanism.
With this in place it was then over to Creative to re-do the headlining and upper trimming.
If you would like to transform your bay window camper to a true four berth camper, then contact Diane in sales for more information

Summer is here
Friday, August 21st, 2009
We are well into the heart of our summer months…and again its been a bit of a mixed bag for us all. We were sweating at the start of July as the temperature within the workshop topped 35 degrees, and a week later we were back to rain and 15 degrees.
But when the sun shines the countryside looks wonderful, this is a shot taken from the edge of Woodend Business Park…the home of The Camper Shak & Creative Trimmings. With the business park overlooking Martin Mere wildfowl reserve there is always plenty to see.
Wherever you are planing to visit this summer in your camper we hope that you have a good trip and that our unpredictable weather shines down on us all.

The Camper Shak at VWNW Tatton Park
Sunday, August 13th, 2006
Well we have just completed our first VW Show at Tatton Park. This was our first opportunity for VW enthusiast to view and examine our product range up close.
The show gave us the focus to have a number of elements finalised in readiness for our first outing. Furniture layouts were prepared, and promotional material made ready, and the final element of the weekend was the launch of the Camper Shak website.
Well after arriving on Saturday evening and setting up our trade pitch we settles down in our camper under a star strewn sky, and all looked settled for the next days show.
However the weather at first light looked a bit doubtful and it wasn\'t long before the rain started falling. Everyone was rapidly taking cover and trying to keep their sale items from the elements.
But by mid morning the weather had stabilised and people began milling around the show area. We had many people showing great interest in our own camper fitted out with Camper Shak furniture.
And we had set up a show area at the rear of the site for people to really get to grips with the product range. The feedback was very encouraging with all of our 200 pricing detail sheets gone before lunch. (need to have much more next time)
Some folks seemed astonished that we could offer the furniture range in several wood colour tones, and we have arranged to send some out to potential clients for specific colour matchings.
So after a long day we eventually got home around 7.00pm, was it worth it? You bet. It was hard work getting everything ready for our first show, but the comments have been extremely encouraging and uplifting.
Thanks to everyone who visited us at the Camper Shak stand, it was lovely meeting you.
I hope that we offered you some interesting possibilities for your camper.
