Show Diary
Dubfreeze 2010 - Sunday, February 21st, 2010
Hi Folks
We are all booked in for Dubfreeze in our usual spot by the stairs, we have taken another plot so that we can fit “Bluebell” our bay window show camper on the pitch.
We will have plenty of information, photos of previous work along with a display of some furniture and upholstery items from our sister company Creative Trimmings.
People are travelling from far afield to discuss their camper projects with us on the day, so come on over and say hello, have a look around Bluebell and have a good day out at the first show of the season.
See you there Mike & Diane
Busfreeze - Sunday, November 1st, 2009
There were even more people camping over on the Saturday evening under a nearly full moon, the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed with many groups of clubs and friends gathering round open fires for food and fellowship.
A big thank you to everyone who came over to say hello on the day and have a good look at “Bluebell” our newly re-furbished show camper. Your comments about her furniture design, quality and matching upholstery were very uplifting.
Bluebell represents the very best of what we can currently achieve at both The Camper Shak & Creative Trimmings…and she certainly drew some attention on the day.
Thank you to Viv & Terry and the rest of the show team for another great day. We will see you again in Feb 2010 for Dubfreeze were we will be showing some new ideas on our stand.
See you there Mike & Diane
Tatton 2009 - Sunday, August 9th, 2009
This was our fourth year at this great show and the weather and turnout was the best ever. A very big thank you to everyone who came over to say hello on both The Camper Shak & Creative Trimmings stands.
It was nice to catch up with old vw friends and meet some new folks with interesting thoughts about their vw interiors and upholstery.
See you next year…lets hope the weather is as kind

Stanford Hall 2009 - Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
This was our first show at Stanford and what a teat, we have heard about the beautiful location for this Vdub event but both Di & myself were not expecting such a tranquil location.
The drive up to hall sets a fabulous backdrop for the trader stands at either side, and with the club areas dropping off toward the lake gave a fantastic place to camp over for the night.
We arrived on Saturday and after setting up we wandered round with Ben (our Fox Hound) to explore the grounds, everyone was so friendly and most people were barbecuing their evening meal in the sunshine.
It was lovely to meet everyone who called in to look at the Camper Shak & Creative Trimmings display, your comments were appreciated. Once again we have been set some design challenges, but with everything hand crafted within our workshop we should be able to match your expectations.
Many thanks to the Stanford Hall team for creating a fantastic experience for Diane, myself & Ben…….see you next year.
Dubfreeze 2009 - Sunday, February 22nd, 2009
The weather was a little kinder this year with temperatures into double figures as we travelled down on the Saturday in full sunshine. We set up the Camper Shak display and headed off to find our usual pitch for the evening stay-over.
We always try to catch a movie on the Saturday night at the Apollo cinema in Stafford centre, and this year it was Slumdog…which was great. So after a good rest in the camper it was up and out early to do the final preparations for the show.
Each year we try to enhance our display and for this show we had included our RnR bed sporting full Premier upholstery from our sister company Creative Trimmings.
A real big thank you to everyone who came over to say hello and look at our display, your comments about the display and the quality of our work were both encouraging and inspiring.
Thank you to all clients who placed orders with us yesterday, and for those who discussed their furniture requirements for the future. Finally a big thank you to the organisers of the show, who make it a real success.
See you next year Mike, Diane & The Camper Shak team
Volkswagen Northwest 2008 - Sunday, August 10th, 2008
We will be attending this great show for our third time, but this year we have a real treat in store…we will be side by side with our sister company Creative Trimmings, Paul and Diane will be on hand to discuss all your upholstery requirements.
and you can view our Bay window camper which has been completely re-upholstered, along with our newly fitted Splitty show camper.
We hope to catch up with old friends and meet some new vw enthusiasts, so please come along to say hello, as we launch Creative Trimmings on its first VW show outing.
DubFreeze 2008 - Sunday, February 17th, 2008
Well DubFreeze certainly lived up to its name, with the coldest Saturday night this winter so far. We came down on the Saturday to set up the Camper Shak display ready for the show on Sunday.
Along with another number of brave souls we stayed over in our camper on Saturday night and enjoyed temperatures of -7 degrees. Although we were nice and toasty in bed those first few steps around the camper first thing were a little cool.
Our dishcloth was frozen to the sink…but soon after we had the cooker on making a brew, and the camper started to warm up nicely.
It was lovely to meet up with so many people during the show and discuss your plans for your beloved campers. Apologies to anyone who we did not get the chance to talk too, as it was very busy at times.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to come and see us….see you all next year same place…..new ideas, new designs……lets hope it’s a little warmer
Kind regards
Mike & Diane

Great to meet with so many people at the G.O.T.H. VW festival at Croston, the weather was lovely. The whole weekend was very family orientated with plenty of events over the days to entertain all ages.
Thanks for coming over to our display it was very nice to meet with you all and discuss your camper projects. It was a real treat to meet up with former Camper Shak clients who had travelled from far away places to take part in Gathering on the Hill.
See you next year…lets hope the weather is as kind
Volkswagen Northwest - Sunday, August 12th, 2007
Well someone said to us last year, “It always rains at Tatton” and last year at our first outing it rained hard in the morning. And the exact same pattern happened this year.
We arrived on Saturday after a week of very fine and settled weather, a lot of people were already setting up on the pitches and everyone was looking at the skys and hoping that the settled period would last through the weekend.
A very good feeling to Saturday night with music and good atmosphere around the show ground, we had taken our canvas drive away awning just in case the weather turned, and I’m glad we did…as it battered late on Saturday night.
Sunday morning it began to rain very hard and as everyone was dashing round covering products etc, we all wondered if the day was going to be a complete wash out.
But true to form our great British weather pulled through and the latter half of the morning and the afternoon turned out lovely.
It was great to meet so many people who visited our trade stand and talk through your various thoughts and ideas you have for your beloved campers.
It was also nice to put faces to so many people we have been communicating with over the internet…thank you for taking the time to travel and see us.
It seemed that everyone liked our newly renovated Moonraker and we hope it helped you in the design layout of your own camper.
Best regards
Mike & Diane
DubFreeze 2007 - Sunday, February 18th, 2007
Well we attended our first DubFreeze event this year, and thought it went very well. We met with a customer on Saturday who took delivery of a complete Exclusive range of furniture, and spent the balance of the day setting the display.
Watch out for more photos of Flo in the customer gallery as Mark prepares his camper ready for the road.
Thank you to everyone who came over to say hello on Sunday, it was nice to meet you all and discuss your various ideas and visions you had for your beloved campers.
Apologies to anyone who we did not get the chance to talk to, as it was very busy at times. By the end of the day I had nearly no voice left...and only managed to grab a sandwich after 4pm.
I do hope you all enjoyed The Camper Shak display....and we have come away inspired to have a much larger attraction next time.
Best Regards
Mike
